The mission of Digital Scotland is to design and implement a Digital Nation Action Plan.
This will drive towards a country that and emulates nations like Estonia, both in terms of punching well above it’s weight for tech startups, and also for it’s wholesale digital nation capability.
As the title suggests the key emphasis is action. Digital Scotland will identify a number of initiatives and objectives central to Scotland becoming a world leading digital nation, and directly execute projects to achieve them. We can catalyze and organize this effort through inspiring ambitions, like becoming the Blockchain Capital of Europe.
This will be achieved through major program initiatives:
- Industry Innovation Accelerators - Help grow Scottish SMEs through R&D partner networks organized to address high-growth industry opportunities from Gaming through Cloud & Cybersecurity, to fast-track new startup ventures
- Digital Skills Strategy - Draws together the key policies, industry leader insights and worldwide best practices to shape an action plan that can underpin a world leading 21st Century Scottish Digital Nation.
- Digital Nation Infrastructure - Design and implement the technology platform required for a 21st century digital nation, utilizing key technologies such as 5G and the Blockchain.
